The Chevy Silverado, GM's top-selling and most profitable nameplate, will be available in more trim lines, with expanded powertrain options, technology and functionality, for 2019. The retooled truck and its GMC counterpart, the Sierra, are the biggest product program ever undertaken by GM.
GM plans to use carbon fiber for the beds of its redesigned full-size pickups to improve performance and reduce weight. Carbon fiber is considerably stronger and lighter than steel and aluminum, but it's more expensive.
The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 will receive a more sculpted grille, a smoother body and the brand's new signature LED running lights. Spy photographers caught the redesigned pickup testing on public streets with very little camouflage, providing the best look yet at the truck.
