DETROIT -- Ford Motor Co. on Wednesday said it’s recalling nearly 6,000 2017 Mustang pony cars in North America with faulty left door handle springs.
The automaker said vehicles with a misoriented return spring could cause the door to unlatch during a side impact crash. The affected vehicles were built at its Flat Rock Assembly Plant between Jan. 13-31 of this year.
Ford said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue.
About 5,470 of the affected Mustangs are in the United States and federalized territories. About 20 are in Mexico and 266 are in Canada.
