A record 358,842 people attended the 2018 Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto.
It marked the show’s third consecutive attendance record. Total attendance in 2017 was 339,590 while 320,000 people went to the show in 2016.
Included in the new high-water mark was a record one-day attendance of 54,487, which was set on Feb. 18, the Sunday of the three-day Ontario Family Day long weekend.More than 40 new vehicles made their Canadian debut at the show, which also included a number of extra attractions, including the 50 Years of Hot Wheels and the 70 Years of Porsche displays.
“The automobile marketplace, which is one of the main drivers of the Ontario economy, is still strong,” said show General Manager Jason Campbel.
Daily attendance was up on all but one day of the 10-day show.
With more than 1,000 vehicles on display, the CAIS is the country’s largest consumer show.
