Hyundai Canada’s senior manager of public relations, Chad Heard, is leaving the company April 6 “for a new challenge in a new industry.”
“After 17 years in a PR role for automotive companies and clients, it’s time for a change,” he says. “I have an opportunity to broaden my experience by getting out of my comfort zone with an infrastructure company.”
He is joining the public relations team at Ontario’s Hydro One, the electricity transmission and distribution utility serving the province.
Heard graduated from a post-graduate journalism program at Humber College and worked for a year as a freelance journalist before moving into public relations.
Before joining Hyundai, he worked at Honda Canada for three years and managed the Volvo Canada public relations account as a senior consultant at Marshall Fenn Communications.
Heard’s replacement has not been announced.
