Managing director, Volvo Cars Canada
Matt Girgis is one of several Canadians to become the head of an automaker’s Canadian operations this year, and he’s just 33.
Girgis takes over from Alexander Lvovich, who had led the company in Canada since 2016, during which time the brand doubled its sales.
Girgis, most recently deputy head of finance for Volvo in the Americas Region, will try to keep that momentum going in a declining Canadian new-vehicle market and as Volvo doubles down on its plan to electrify its lineup.
IN HIS OWN WORDS:
“The Volvo brand has seen strong growth in Canada thanks to award-winning product range and a strong performance by the Canadian retailers. I’m excited to return home to Canada and will focus on continuing the momentum while making our retailer network stronger and more profitable.”
