Vice-president, Auto/Mobility, RBC Ventures
Steph Morgan, 38, leads the auto and mobility arm of the Royal Bank of Canada’s Ventures group. In an age of digital upheaval, RBC looks to extend its reach beyond traditional banking services.
In the past several years, its Ventures arm has launched several companies and products in several sectors, including automotive. RBC’s Drive smartphone app, launched in 2018, is part of that effort, allowing users to book service appointments, receive recall notices, get vehicle valuations and more. Morgan is steering RBC’s efforts to get ahead of the curve on digital trends that could upend the automotive industry.
IN HER OWN WORDS:
“When you look at the industry and what’s happening, it’s ripe for disruption, but not disruption in a negative way. It’s, ‘Yes, finally.’ In the same way publishing was disrupted by digital, I actually think digital with automotive can augment it.”
