EV RETAIL EXPANSION
Kim Day
President, Steele Auto Group
In her four years leading Steele Auto Group, Kim Day has had a big impact. The latest move for Atlantic Canada’s largest dealership group is buying and expanding All EV Canada, a company that serves the growing used market for electric vehicles. After buying the two-outlet All EV in July, Steele opened two more locations by September in Atlantic Canada: St. John’s, Nfld., and Fredericton, N.B.
A third outlet is to open in Corner Brook, Nfld., early in 2022. The existing store in Burnside, N.S., was relocated to Halifax. With one other existing outlet in Stratford, P.E.I., there will be five outlets in Atlantic Canada.
All EV sells used vehicles, including Teslas, Chevrolet Bolts and Nissan Leafs, as well as new e-bikes.
With government incentives and charging infrastructure in place, “We really believe the time for EVs is now,” said Day, 47.
Under her leadership, the Steele group, which also has stores in Texas, has grown to 55 dealerships from 17, representing 28 brands.
