LOS ANGELES — The Subaru Forester is getting a redesign that features a similar look, feel and footprint compared with the outgoing model but is bolstered by a handful of key updates inside and out.
Subaru will launch the latest Forester with a 2.5-litre engine with 180 hp and 178 pound-feet of torque.
Canadian sales plunged 20.9 per cent to 4,883 through the first three quarters of 2023, according to the Automotive News Research & Data Center in Detroit. Last year, Canadian sales of the Forester fell 16.9 per cent to 8,161. It was the brand’s third best-selling vehicle, behind the Crosstrek and Outback.
It’s a much different story south of the border.
U.S. sales of the Forester soared 34 per cent to 106,345 this year through the third quarter, ranking it eighth among compact crossovers. Through October, it was Subaru's third-bestselling nameplate in the U.S. behind the Outback midsize crossover and Crosstrek.
