CARS & CONCEPTS: New or refreshed offerings from Audi, Porsche, Ford and more

The Audi e-tron GT, shown above, is the luxury brand’s stunning new all-wheel-drive electric car that will reach a claimed top speed of more 250 km/h, fitting for a vehicle that shares its engineering with the Porsche Taycan. Horsepower tops out at 637 and the batteries will have a range of about 380 kilometres on a full charge. The 800-volt system means 90 kilometres of range can be added in about five minutes using the appropriate charger. Canadian pricing was not available as of press time, but it will start at $99,900 in the United States (about $127,000), before shipping.

2021 PORSCHE BOXSTER 25 YEARS

The automaker is marking a quarter century of the Boxster sports car with a limited-edition model based on the Boxster concept that was unveiled in 1993, three years before it went into production in 1996 as a 1997 model. The two-tone wheels and the red-leather material of the Boxster 25 Years are among the odes to the original, Porsche said. Located behind the passenger compartment is a 394-horsepower 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine. Just 1,250 vehicles will be built worldwide.

2021 FORD F-150 RAPTOR

Pricing details and performance specifications for the redesigned Raptor are not available yet, but this much is certain: Ford is not backing down in a segment that now has the 707-horsepower Ram TRX as its chief rival. The Ford will get a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V-6 engine and 37-inch-tall off-road tires are options. Speaking of the Ram TRX, a high-performance Raptor R variant is set for a 2022 debut.

2022 NISSAN PATHFINDER

The third-generation of this midsize utility vehicle has a flatter hood and new headlights and fenders that square off and toughen up the appearance. The redesigned Pathfinder gets a 284-horsepower 3.5-litre V-6 engine and a new nine-speed transmission that will provide “strong acceleration,” according to Nissan Canada. Four-wheel drive is standard.

2022 CHEVROLET BOLT EV AND BOLT EUV

General Motors is cutting the price of the Bolt EV by $6,800 in a bid to win over more customers as the brand pursues its electrification strategy. The new Bolt, which will get up to 417 kilometres of range on a charge, will start at $39,998 (including $1,800 shipping). The automaker also unveiled a 15-centimetre-longer crossover version called the Bolt EUV, which will drive about 402 kilometres on a full charge, according to Chevrolet. The EUV will be the first Chevrolet model equipped with GM’s Super Cruise driver-assist system. Both models go on sale this summer, according to Chevrolet's website.
