    The Ferrari Purosangue

The Italy-based automaker is not calling its first four-door vehicle an SUV or crossover, instead referring to the high-riding Purosangue, shown above, as “something unique and distinctive.” Nor is the automaker departing from its performance pedigree. The Purosangue uses a 6.5-litre V-12 engine to accelerate to 100 km/h from rest in 3.3 seconds, Ferrari said. Deliveries are due to begin in Europe in the second quarter of 2023. Canadian pricing has not been released, but Ferrari said the Purosangue will start in Italy at 390,000 euros, or about $525,000.

    2023 KIA NIRO

    The 2023 Kia Niro

The second-generation compact crossover is redesigned for 2023 and is still available in battery-electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions. Added length and width increase cabin space, while new distinctive daytime running lights provide some modern flair. Kia said the electric version will start in the mid-$40,000s, but no further details on pricing have been released. The redesigned Niro will land at Canadian dealerships in spring.

    2023 FORD SUPER DUTY

    The 2023 Ford Super Duty

With the next-generation Super Duty pickup, Ford has set its sights on best-in-class ratings for towing, payload, torque and horsepower. A new standard 6.8-litre V-8 replaces the current 6.2-litre V-8 and there’s
a new high-output version of the 6.7-litre V-8 turbo-diesel available. Power levels and general performance numbers have not been released, however. Of note is 5G wireless capability that allows 10 Wi-Fi hotspot connections. Pricing has not been released, but the Super Duty is expected to go on sale in spring.

    The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD

A standard 10-speed automatic transmission and a stronger turbo-diesel engine — 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque — headline the midcycle update to the Silverado HD. The front end has been freshened, while an interior revamp provides a more modern look and feel. Chevrolet will also premiere an off-road ZR2 trim. Updates to the GMC Sierra HD largely mirror those made to the Silverado. Both pickup lines are scheduled to arrive at Canadian dealers in the first quarter of 2023. Pricing has not been released.

    2023 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER PHEV

    The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander

The second-generation midsize crossover shares its platform with the Nissan Rogue and improves its electric range to 61 kilometres, a 40-per-cent jump compared with the previous model. The 2023 model adds one-pedal driving — essentially automatic braking — a feature typically reserved for battery-electric vehicles. The Outlander PHEV, which has three rows of seats, is scheduled to arrive in North America this fall, priced at $46,538 plus $1,900 destination.
