Ford is bringing back the Tremor package (above), this time with a four-door SuperCrew configuration that includes a 5.5-foot box, a 3.5-litre V-6 engine, 10-speed automatic transmission and standard four-wheel drive. Designed for off-road use, the Tremor includes an upgraded suspension and more ground clearance. The exterior gets a blacked-out Ford oval logo as well as orange-highlighted badging on the tailgate, fenders and bed sides.
2021 LINCOLN NAUTILUS
A midcycle refresh is coming for the Lincoln Nautilus crossover, which is assembled alongside the related Ford Edge at the company’s plant in Oakville, Ont. The most notable changes are for the interior, which gets a standard 13.2-inch touch screen and Ford’s new Sync 4 info- tainment system. Interior colour options come in “neutral tones,” Lincoln says, helping to provide a “calming environ- ment.” A 250-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder remains as standard, while a 335-horsepower twin-turbo- charged 2.7-litre V-6 is optional.
2022 SUBARU BRZ
With a 228-horsepower 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine, the redesigned coupe has 23 more horses than the current model’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder. The BRZ retains its rear-wheel-drive layout and its low centre of gravity. A six-speed manual transmission is standard fare and an automatic transmission will be available. The BRZ has what Subaru calls a “driver-fo- cused interior,” which includes contoured sport bucket seats and a customizable seven-inch digital dashboard.
2021 NISSAN KICKS
The automaker launched the Kicks subcompact crossover in 2018 to com- pete in a fast growing segment, quickly becom- ing the company’s second-highest-selling vehi- cle in Canada. For the 2021 odel year, it gets a host of tweaks and upgrades to help it stand out in a fiercely competitive segment. New designs for the grille, front bumper and headlights give the exterior a sporty feel, and a sev- en-inch touch screen is standard. A 1.6-litre four-cyl- inder engine generates 122 horsepower.
2022 ACURA MDX
The brand’s flag- ship crossover is completely redesigned on a new platform for the 2022 model year. The MDX’s new double-wishbone front suspension — which implies sporting flair — improves handling over the outgoing model, Acura says. Under the hood is a familiar 3.5-litre V-6 rated at 290 horsepower, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. There are four models with pricing starting at $59,400 in Canada, including shipping.
