Jeep diversifying its 4xe offerings with special-edition versions of the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler plug-in hybrids.
The Grand Cherokee 4xe gets the 30th Anniversary edition to commemorate the vehicle's third decade on the market. Jeep said more than 7 million Grand Cherokees have been sold since debuting in 1992.
The automaker is adding a retro touch to the Wrangler 4xe lineup with the heritage-inspired Willys trim.

Both vehicles debuted Wednesday during the Detroit auto show.
The anniversary Grand Cherokee 4xe features a blacked-out exterior with a modified front fascia, signature blue tow hooks, dual exhaust, dual pane sunroof, new 20-inch black wheels, special-edition badging and body-colour rear fascia, lower moldings, sill claddings and wheel flares.
Orders will begin later this year for the Anniversary edition, and it will begin arriving in dealerships by 2023. The U.S. manufacturer's suggested price for the package is US$4,700, Canadian pricing hasn’t been announced..
The first-generation Grand Cherokee famously smashed through glass at the entrance of the former Cobo Hall during its debut at the Detroit show.

"The Grand Cherokee 4xe 30th Anniversary edition underscores how far the Grand Cherokee has come and is yet another example of the Jeep brand's goal to be the electrification leader in SUVs," said Jim Morrison, Jeep's North America head, in a statement.
Consumers can order the Willys opens this month in Canada with deliveries scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2022. The vehicle is US$55,590, including shipping, in the United States and is eligible for a US$7,500 federal tax credit there. Canadian pricing details have not been announced.
A 'Willys' decal on the hood is trimmed in the 4xe's signature "electric blue." It features standard LED headlamps and fog lamps, Alpine 9-speaker premium audio, all-weather floor mats, rear limited-slip differential, rock rails, black grille, and 17-inch black-painted alloy wheels.
