Vito Paladino will assume the roles of president and CEO of Volkswagen Group Canada on Jan. 1, 2024.
The group is comprised of Volkswagen Canada, Audi Canada, Automobili Lamborghini and Ducati.
Paladino is currently president of Audi Canada.
Prior to joining Audi in 2013, Paladino spent 14 years at Mazda Canada in sales and marketing roles.
Paladino, who assumed the role of Audi Canada’s president in 2020, was named an Automotive News Canada Canadian to Watch in 2021.
He is a graduate of York University's Schulich School of Business with an MBA in Business Administration.
Meanwhile, Edgar Estrada will join the group as president of the Volkswagen Brand in Canada.
Estrada joins Volkswagen Canada from Mexico, where he has been serving as head of the Volkswagen brand. He’s been with the company for 25 years, having held progressive roles throughout his career.
The changes come as current Volkswagen Canada CEO Pierre Boutin departs for a “a new role within the Group‘s European operations.”
Pablo Di Si, the CEO of Volkswagen Brand North American Region, said in a statement that the pair arrives at “a very exciting time for the Volkswagen Group in Canada.”
He also thanks Boutin for his “great achievements.”
Boutin previously noted a number of accomplishments, including renewed dealer relations and “their $1-billion investment in facilities” and progress towards 100-per-cent electric mobility.
VW Group is also building a $7-billion battery cell plant in St. Thomas, Ont.
