The first of Mitsubishi’s new-look dealerships in North America has officially opened in Saint-Hyacinthe, Que.
It’s one of a large number of Canadian dealerships that agreed to adopt the automaker’s new global dealer visual identity program. The new initiative will affect 5,000 stores worldwide.
Mitsubishi Canada says 64 per cent of Canadian Mitsubishi Motors dealers signed on to adopt the new look. The automaker didn’t say how much it would cost each dealer to renovate. However, the company has previously said the new dealer image program, first revealed in July 2018, is paid for by the dealer with support from Mitsubishi Canada.
There are currently 58 renovation, new builds and expansion projects underway across Canada as a result of the program, according to the company.
“The pace of change for a new retail image will be quick,” Juyu Jeon, president and CEO, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada, Inc., said in a statement.
