Volkswagen’s second compact crossover offering, the Taos (shown above) is designed to bring more entry-level crossover buyers to the brand, still most known among consumers for its cars. The new Taos is smaller than the Tiguan and is expected to be less expensive. The Tiguan has an MSRP of $31,655, including shipping. A 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-four engine powers the Taos, generating 158 horsepower. VW’s IQ Drive driver-assist package, which includes forward-collision warning, lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control, comes standard.
