The Ferrari Purosangue starts at about C$511,750.

Canadian supplier Multimatic continues to bolster its resume with high performance brands and ultra luxury vehicles.

The Ferrari Purosangue SUV is equipped with a unique active suspension technology enabled by Multimatic’s True Active Spool Valve (TASV) System.

The exotic sports car maker says the new architecture from Multimatic “offers numerous advantages by combining electric motor actuation with a high-precision spool valve hydraulic damper into one fully integrated system.”

“The electric motor ensures that body and wheels can be controlled actively with more force authority and at higher frequencies than traditional adaptive or semi-active systems,” Ferrari said in a statement.

Multimatic has recently been a supplier to the Aston Martin hypercar, Ford GT and Ford Bronco Desert Racer.

The Purosangue, Ferrari’s first four-door four-seater, was unveiled today.

Ferrari is refusing to call its first four-door vehicle, the Purosangue, an SUV or a crossover, despite its higher stance and all-wheel drive.

Instead, CEO Benedetto Vigna says, "The Purosangue is a sports car, something unique and distinctive, which is uncompromised on design and engineering."

At starting price of 390,000 euros (C$511,750) in Italy, the naturally aspirated V-12 Purosangue will be the second-most expensive normal production Ferrari, below the SF90 range, which starts at 440,000 euros, or about C$577,360. (Limited production models cost more than 1 million euros, with the latest Daytona SP3 at 2 million euros.)

The Purosangue can go 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 310 km/h.

The Purosangue will compete with the Lamborghini Urus and the Bentley Bentayga. Production will begin before the end of the year. Deliveries will start next year.

Ferrari describes it as a "luxury high-performance vehicle" for the GT range.

The SUV is the last of 15 models included in Ferrari's 2018-2022 product plan. Ferrari has already presented four hybrid models and promised a full-electric car for 2025.

Ferrari plans to begin Purosangue deliveries in the second quarter of 2023 in Europe, in the third quarter in the United States and by year’s end in other markets.
