Magna International Inc. is looking to fill 100 full-time jobs for its lighting plant in Plymouth, Mich.
The auto supplier has openings for product associates that pay $16-$19.85 (all figures in USD) per hour, according to an advisory.
The openings are within the company's Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group. They come with medical, dental and health insurance, as well as profit sharing, 401(k) plans and tuition reimbursement. More details can be found on the company's website.
Magna, a Canadian auto supplier whose North American headquarters are in Troy, has committed recently to large investments across locations in metro Detroit. It said last June that it would invest $35.4 million and create 480 jobs in Highland Park over the next three years. It also has plans for a new $70 million vehicle battery component plant in St. Clair, which will support the 2022 GM Hummer EV.
Magna refers to itself as a "mobility technology" company and has invested heavily in the electric and autonomous vehicle space. It supplies to dozens of OEMs, counting Ford Motor Co., General Motors Co. and Stellantis among its primary customers. It also sells to non-auto companies such as John Deere and Caterpillar.
Magna employs more than 10,000 people at 36 facilities in Michigan and has around 159,000 workers worldwide. Its revenue in 2020 was $32.6 billion, down 17 per cent year-over-year primarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It reported earlier this month first quarter sales of $10.2 billion, up 18 per cent from last year.
