Managing Partner Brent Walker on the dealership’s approach to recruiting and retaining female employees: We active-
ly search for female candidates in our job searches and proceed with our recruiting process from there. Since there are typically fewer female resumes that come in for certain positions [like technicians or sales positions], we make an extra effort
to pay closer attention to those resumes or candidates. We also work with some of our local institutions to come up with ideas to recruit females at an early age. This is a work in progress but one we are proud to be working on.
Walker on the pros and cons of staff working from home: Sometimes when an employee has to work from home [childcare needs, sickness etc.] then they are able to still perform some of their duties, so you still get some productivity from them working from home. A negative would be that we are a customer facing industry and sometimes even from not interacting in person with your peers you miss out on some very important conversations that help the employee be more productive.
Walker on preparing employees for increasing adoption of electric vehicles: Our staff is constantly doing online training and in-class training.
