Ontario dealership group UpAuto has purchased its first Honda store.
The group on Sept. 1 bought Hanover Honda from Larry Lantz, who has owned and operated the dealership since 2007.
The dealership, located about 180 kilometres northwest of Toronto, is UpAuto’s fourth store in rural Ontario.
It also owns Stratford Nissan, Stratford Subaru, St. Marys Buick GMC and Cargo.
UpAuto Founder and CEO Michael Carmichael said in a statement that the dealership “represents an exciting strategic opportunity for our company to grow and expand the brands we represent.”
Hanover General Manager Robert Lantz and Sales Manager David Lantz – both sons of Larry Lantz — will continue in their roles under new ownership.
“As a fourth-generation Carmichael in the automotive industry, I understand the commitment, dedication and sacrifice put into a family owned and operated dealership and the positive impact it can have on the community,” said Carmichael, who comes from a long line of automotive businesspeople. “The Lantz family can rest assured that we recognize and respect their personal investment in this business and will build this dealership to demonstrate the care and compassion that they did.”
With the purchase, UpAuto says it now has access to the full lineup of Honda dirt bikes, ATVs, side-by-sides, generators, and power equipment.
